A playboy nephew convinces the personal nurse he has recruited to marry his uncle in order to inherit his wealth
This crime thriller is based on the 1954 novel La Femme de paille by Catherine Arley. There is one scene that cuts to the front of a speeding London Underground sub-surface stock train which passes before the camera zooms in on the lit window of a terraced house next to the track. It’s night-time, so it’s impossible to tell where it is or whether it’s O/P or R stock, but the 2+1 marker lamps indicate a Whitechapel service.
