THE WAITING ROOM

GB
2007
1hr 50mins
Dir: Roger Goldby
Starring: Ralf Little and Anne-Marie Duff

Three south London couples try to come to terms with their love lives

This seemingly overlooked romantic drama has an awful lot of railway footage, with much of the action taking place at Wandsworth Common and Balham stations with contemporary EMUs appearing throughout. Class 377 and Class 455 units dominate proceedings, but there is a rarer glimpse of one of the ‘Gatwick Express’ Class 460 EMU’s. Note also that where everything is in the Southern green and white livery, a solitary Class 455 is glimpsed still in the old NSE colours. One of the Class 455’s is No.455833. There are some additional shots of trains crossing the Thames on Grosvenor Bridge, though the ‘steam train’ crossing is a CGI creation!
