The murder of an Oxford scholar is linked to ancient relics

This short crime drama was one of a series of second feature films based on Edgar Wallace novels, released between 1960 and 1965 in British cinemas, and like most of them, it isn’t a bad little film at all. It features a scene at a level crossing with an ex-GWR 5101 Class 2-6-2T pulling away from a station with a passenger train. This was filmed at Bourne End, on the Maidenhead-High Wycombe line.

The road sign gives us a slight clue. This is not Cookham, but Bourne End, the station still being on a through route at the time
The loco is a 5101 Class 2-6-2T ‘Large Prairie’
