THE RACHEL PAPERS

GB
1989
1hr 35mins
Dir: Damian Harris
Starring: Dexter Fletcher and Ione Skye

A highly sexed and precociously intelligent Oxford student has a relationship with an American girl

This quite forgettable romantic drama is based on the 1973 Martin Amis novel of the same name. It features shots of Dexter Fletcher onboard both 1962 and 1973 built tube stock, plus a scene with him filmed inside a BR Mk.1 buffet on the Bluebell Railway. There is an additional shot of a Piccadilly Line train in a tube tunnel, plus a scene towards the end that shows Dexter Fletcher leaving a train of 1973-built tube stock at Heathrow Terminals 1, 2 and 3 Underground station. The Piccadilly Line at Heathrow has been a surprisingly rare location in feature film.

The approaching train is bound for Cockfosters, which makes it an eastbound Piccadilly Line service formed of 1973-built stock
