When a local death triggers a series of cryptic symbols, a young mathematics scholar at Oxford tries to solve the puzzle
This European co-production thriller is based on the 2003 novel Los Crimenes de Oxford by Argentine mathematician Guillermo Martínez. There is an establishing scene of Wood’s character Martin going to Oxford on the train, which is obviously the interior of a Class 166 Network Express Turbo. The landscape out of the window looks like it might be around Pangbourne or Goring and a First Great Western HST passes going in the other direction. Oddly, for a film set in Oxford we see nothing of the station at all.
