An American novelist meets his rich neighbours across the lake and is soon involved in a love triangle and murder

This B-movie film noir drama is set in the Lake District with the main character missing a London-bound train made up of a pre-war Southern Railway 2 NOL EMU! This anachronistic scene was filmed at Windsor & Eton Riverside station. Even more bizarre is a shot of an ex-LMS Class 5MT ‘Black Five’ 4-6-0 on a passenger train in the West Highlands.

This is the shot of the ‘Black Five’ that was filmed in the West Highlands of Scotland. As it transpires that is an Anderson ‘piano’ signal in the background so this is somewhere on the IOban line (thanks Rory Wilson)
As the ticker collector closes the platform gate a 2 NOL EMU can be seen departing in the background. This is Windsor & Eton Riverside station.
