Four men form a gang to rob a mail van

This crime thriller featuring a number of American actors was a huge success and is now very popular. It features a suspenseful chase sequence filmed on the London Underground that was shot in the tunnels of the District & Circle Lines around the Barbican and Farringdon area. Plenty of London Transport R stock features, as does Barbican station. There is also an earlier scene at London Waterloo station with a number of SR 4 SUB EMUs visible.

This is London Waterloo with plenty of 4 SUB’s on show.
The rarely viewed main entrance to Waterloo
Richard Basehart runs to join a train of R stock at Barbican station, called Aldersgate & Barbican until 1968.
Laurence Harvey watches the train pull out. A better view of Barbican from the Westbound platform.
The by now classic shot of Laurence Harvey and John Ireland crouching down on the tracks as trains of R stock pass by. Only a moment later, and Harvey pushes Ireland onto the live rail.
An interesting view down a murky District Line tunnel on the Underground network in the Farringdon area.
