Two women and their relationships with the Welsh poet Dylan Thomas

The opening scene of this drama features a London Underground station acting as a shelter during the blitz. These of course used Aldwych and it appears a number of other times in the film as flashback scenes to the story. There is also a brief scene with Sienna Miller at King’s Cross station, though no trains are visible. ‘New Quay’ station in Wales meanwhile is indeed a Welsh station, it is Llwyfan Cerrig on the Gwili Railway and some BR Mk.1 coaching stock is present. These are of course just slightly too young for the film. The shots filmed onboard the train and that of a steam engine whistle also used the Gwili.

The ‘main’ railway scenes used the Gwili Railway in southwest Wales. This is the rarely seen Llwyfan Cerrig station, playing the part of ‘New Quay’. The Mk.1 coaches in the platform are slightly to young for the period in which the film is set.
