A festive holiday dinner in Ireland at the turn of the 20th century brings epiphanies for a married couple

This period drama is an adaptation of the short story of the same name by James Joyce, which was first published in 1914 as the last story in Dubliners. An international co-production between the United Kingdom, the United States, and West Germany, the film was Huston’s last as director, and it was released several months after his death. The film has some railway scenes filmed at the Whitehead base of the RPSI using the society’s Class 101 0-6-0 No.184.
