A war hero finds a purpose as a trainer of youth seamanship at the original Outward Bound School in Aberdovey, Wales

This adventure film has a good scenic shot of an ex-GWR ‘Dukedog’ 4-4-0 on the Cambrian Coast Line and a shot of a train arriving at Penhelig station. There are also a number of good views of Aberdovey Harbour with some railway wagons present. The title is derived from the flag of the Outward Bound Sea School at Aberdovey, Wales, but the film was re-titled for release in the US.

A ‘Dukedog’ takes its train past the cove near Plâs Pont Eidal, close to Aberdovey on the Cambrian Coast
This is the town of Aberdovey and a steam-hauled service is arriving at Penhelig. The platform is visible to the right of the locomotive’s exhaust.
Sarah Lawson and Greta Gynt discuss some matter of urgency at Aberdovey Harbour. The quay and landing stage were rail served until 1964 and a railway wagon stands beyond the pair.
