The Spice Girls encounter problems whilst preparing for a concert at the Albert Hall

This musical comedy starring pop girl group the Spice Girls was made in the ‘mock documentary’ style similar to The BeatlesA Hard Day’s Night (qv). Freed from the hype it is not a bad movie but it was much less successful than had been hoped. As the group cruise around London in the Spice Bus they cross Blackfriars Bridge, and Class 319 and 465/466 EMU’s are visible. In another similar scene, a pair of Docklands Light Railway units are captured near Canary Wharf.

The Spice Bus crosses Blackfriars Bridge, with Blackfriars railway bridge and station behind and St. Paul’s Cathedral on the skyline. A ‘Networker’ EMU is in one of the platforms of the station.
Whilst just a little further along the bridge, Class 319 EMU’s can be seen. Note the angled fence immediately above the rear of the bus corresponding with the ramp of the station platform.
The Union Jack coloured Spice Bus is nicely matched by a similarly coloured Docklands Light Railway train
