SOUTH WEST NINE

The lives of five characters in London SW9 over 24 hours

This odd mash up of a drama is centred on the Brixton rave scene and features a number of contemporary railway scenes in the area. There are a couple of shots of Class 465/466 ‘Networker’ EMU’s and in one scene a pair of Class 423 4 VEP EMU’s are reflected in a shop window. However, there is also a very good and very rare shot of a Class 92 electric loco on a Freightliner train. It seems that the film’s title was marketed as South West 9 (the postcode covering Stockwell, Brixton, Clapham and Lambeth) yet the credits at the start display the title as South West Nine.

Thankfully, this is the best railway shot of the lot. A very rare glimpse of a modern Class 92 electric loco passes the camera in close up. It is just a shame that its identity can not be gleaned as this is so far the only known appearance of one on film.
