New Army recruits stage a show

This was the first of the Somewhere films and features the most that will interest the railway enthusiast. There is a scene with a couple of the characters boarding a Southern Railway EMU at an unknown station, which is then followed by a very, very, rare shot of one of the LNER P2 Class 2-8-2’s that could possibly be an out-take from the ‘lost’ 1935 film Cock O’ the North. Either way, it had also appeared in Anything to Declare? (1938 – qv).

I believe this a 4 COR EMU as next to the platform edge on the far left is the DC fuse circuit breaker
This stock shot gives us a rare glimpse of one of the magnificent LNER P2 Class 2-8-2’s
