An Italian temptress arrives at a school in Newcastle to teach a group of Geordie women the art of romance and seduction

This comedy drama set on Tyneside features some railway scenes near the beginning. There are a couple of passing shots of GNER expresses and the scenes at Newcastle Central station include a shot of another GNER express arriving. There are also scenes filmed onboard the train and a view out of the window of the Newcastle skyline is ‘interrupted’ by a turquoise and green Northern Spirit Class 156 DMU passing! (It should be noted that the skyline is Gateshead and would not be a view as seen from an ECML express but that can be overlooked as irrelevant).

A GNER express approaches the camera led by the DVT. Therefore, this is a London-bound service.
Another GNER express, this time with the 91 leading, flashes passed the camera bound for Scotland
The view out of the window on the approach to Newcastle is temporarily blocked by a passing Northern Spirit Class 156 DMU. The building visible through the window is the Glasshouse, a music venue on Gateshead’s Quayside that was brand new at the time of filming. It opened in 2004, the year of the film’s release.
Another Class 91 hauled express arrives into Newcastle Central on its way to Scotland
A scene beneath Newcastle Central’s grand portico. The station’s overall integrated design of trainshed and frontage is unsurpassed anywhere in the UK. Furthermore, Newcastle was the only large city to have its railway services concentrated in a single station, helped by the fact that the area in which it was built was being developed at the time of its construction.
Dervla Kirwan runs across the footbridge at Newcastle, bearing a strong similarity in appearence to York from this angle (the station that is, not Ms Kirwan!!)
