The story of an Italian family in London told through the eyes of their ten-year-old son

A UK and US co-production with a mixed Italian and British cast, this critically acclaimed comedy drama includes a short scene filmed at London Victoria station. Class 411 4 CEP EMUs are visible in the background with Class 419 MLV No.9003 also making an appearence, all in the magnificent ‘Jaffa Cake’ livery.

Oh for the love of a ‘Jaffa Cake’! The electric units in the background to this shot are in the relatively short-lived, but much loved London South Eastern brown and orange livery. In fact, by a strange quirk of fate both variants of the livery are visible. The orange stripe (seen on the left) later had black edging applied to it (as on the right).

In the background of this shot is MLV No.9003. The MLVs were classified Class 419 and ten were built as luggage vans for the boat trains out of Victoria. Eight have been preserved including No.9003. This is the only known instance of one to appear in film.
