After falling downstairs and losing her sight, a woman suspects that a mentally traumatic experience prior to the fall caused her accident

This psychological drama is based on the 1963 novel Psyche ’59 by Françoise des Ligneris. It features some scenes filmed at London Charing Cross station and amongst all the Southern Region EMU’s that are present, there are some good shots of ‘Hastings’ DEMU’s, including Class 6B set No.1037. Interestingly, the scenes inside the train compartment use the real thing, but the slightly grainy ‘back-projection’ through the window appears to show a BR EMU (probably a 4 CIG) at a different station!

This fine establishing shot shows London Charing Cross from a rarely seen angle. The train in the centre at platform 5 is ‘Hastings’ DEMU No.1037, flanked to the left and right by 4 SUB EMU’s.

As Samantha Eggar looks out of the window upon departure, a BR blue-liveried EMU, probably a 4 CIG, stands in the opposite platform. Oddly, this appears to be ‘back-projection’.

The pair are silhouetted against the sun as they walk back towards the main confines of the station. More electric units of Southern Railway origin are in the background.
