A unmarried textile worker travels to Manchester for a secret liason with an unassuming man….
This short lesbian love drama set in 1950s Yorkshire was a huge success, and remains one of the most popular films of its genre today. It has won 17 international awards and 12 runner up / special mentions. The start of the film features a train journey from an unspecified Yorkshire town to Manchester Victoria, which is really nothing more than a short hop on the Keighley & Worth Valley Railway from Ingrow to Keighley. The train is hauled by BR Standard Class 4 2-6-4T No.80002 and there are several run-by shots of the train on the line including one of it exiting Mytholmes Tunnel.
