GB
1990
1hr 45mins
Dir: Christopher Morahan
Starring: Paul McGann and Amanda Donohoe

A hospital orderly impersonates a recently deceased doctor and takes a job at a busy hospital

This drama is based in the 1987 novel A Paper Mask by John Collee and includes a shot of a passing HST, along with a scene filmed at Bristol Temple Meads station with another HST leaving. Finally, there is a short scene with Amanda Donohoe on the concourse of London King’s Cross station though no trains feature here on this occasion.

An HST set heads away from the camera
As the train passes, we see that the rear power car is still in the older style InterCity executive livery
As Paul McGann makes a phone call the chargehand checks his watch. An HST stands in the platform.
The train pulls away under the watchful eye of the platform chargehand. This is Bristol Temple Meads and the rear power car visible here is No.43157. That appears to be a BR Mk.1 coach lurking on the right.
