An elderly mild-mannered gardener develops a reputation as a ladies’ man
This comedy features two unusual railways. The first is the 15” gauge Lakeside Miniature Railway in Southport with Princess Anne on a train of open-top carriages. The loco Princess Anne is a Class 52 ‘Western’ style diesel-hydraulic built by Severn Lamb in 1971. There are also several shots of the old 1’ 11 ½” gauge Southport Pier Train, the locomotive of which was a rather square diesel built by Severn Lamb in 1973 and named English Rose.
