LONDON HAS FALLEN

Starring: Gerard Butler and Morgan Freeman

In London for the Prime Minister’s funeral, a US secret service agent discovers a plot to assassinate all the attending world leaders

This typically over dramatic US action thriller has a shoot-out scene on the closed former Jubilee Line platforms at Charing Cross Underground station, with 1996-built tube stock present. The surface building seen is in fact that of Moorgate, with the signage amended convincingly to read Charing Cross. Earlier in the film there is an additional shot of another 1995/96 stock train leaving an unknown Underground station. There are plenty of aerial shots of London throughout the first half of the film and visible in these are Charing Cross and Waterloo stations as well as Grosvenor Bridge, with a formation of Class 375 ‘Electrostar’ EMUs crossing.

In this aerial view of the South Bank a train is below the tail rotor of the EC145 helicopter bottom right whilst Waterloo station is the large flat roofed structure behind the two circular buildings top left
Chelsea Bridge is in the foreground of this shot with a train formed of Electrostar stock on Grosvenor Bridge behind
I think this is somewhere on the Northern Line, which would make this 1995-built tube stock.
This is the entrance to Moorgate, not Charing Cross as it claims to make out.
Down on the platforms and this is Charing Cross. The closed Jubilee Line station is now beginning to usurp Aldwych as the Underground’s prime film location. A train of 1996 stock is in the platform.
