A gang of London Spivs are offered a choice between prison and a tour of duty with the British Army where they put their unique talents to work

This comedy features a studio bound train journey that opens with a night shot of an express passing Carnforth hauled by an unrebuilt ‘Royal Scot’ Class 6P 4-6-0. This by now somewhat tired stock footage came from Brief Encounter (1945) (qv).

The set designers produced quite an authentic carriage interior for these scenes
