An investigation into the possibility of a life in the hereafter with three separate lives being interwoven

This quite heavily overworked drama features a scene at the old Charing Cross Jubilee Line platforms with 1996-built tube stock in the platform. The scene is used to represent one of the London bombings of 2005. The actual deep-level tube bombing took place at King’s Cross, but the smoke-filled Underground station entrance seen in the movie is that of Liverpool Street, masquerading as Charing Cross. On the DVD extras there is a small featurette called Hereafter’s Locations – Casting the Silent Characters and this contains several brief glimpses of camera crews at work outside Liverpool Street Underground station plus one very good shot of a Jubilee Line train at Charing Cross.

Charing Cross Underground station
A Jubilee Line train of 1996 stock departs from Charing Cross. These platforms may well be closed but the low lighting is somewhat unnecessary.
Although the sign reads Charing Cross Underground Station this is in fact the entrance to Liverpool Street. Representing one of the 2005 London bombings, such bellowing plumes of smoke would not occur for an explosion deep within a tube tunnel.
A 1996-built Jubilee Line train at Charing Cross. Note the levels of lighting in this shot compared with that used in the actual scene shown above. This was the train used by the film crew and this fine shot is taken from the Hereafter’s Locations featurette.
