A retired RAF officer returns home to find his adult children resent him having married an American widow

This comedy drama was based on the play of the same title by R.F. Delderfield. It features some brief shots of London Waterloo station with a boat train leaving, and though the locomotive at the head is not visible, there is an equally brief glimpse of a streamlined Bulleid pacific at the bufferstops.

A British Railways delivery van heads across the concourse at Waterloo
Visible through the gates in this shot is the unmistakable outline of a streamlined Bulleid pacific
The boat train begins to pull away. I would be VERY interested to know what the emblem on the side of the coach is?
And we end with a more expansive view of the departing train
