Two Glaswegian siblings celebrate Christmas Eve with their distant father, only to discover he has a second family

This short drama is set in 1970s Glasgow and received critical attention when it premiered at the 1998 Cannes Film Festival, receiving the Short Film Palme d’Or and the BAFTA Award for Best Short Film nomination. It has a number of scenes where the families meet in a overgrown railway yard which is home to a number of derelict items of rolling stock. It is not known exactly where this was filmed, but it was possibly somewhere around Springburn.

With the Glasgow tower blocks forming a backdrop, James Ramsay gives Lynne Ramsay Jr a piggyback through a largely derelict railway yard.
