Two Glaswegian siblings celebrate Christmas Eve with their distant father, only to discover he has a second family

This short drama is set in 1970s Glasgow and received critical attention when it premiered at the 1998 Cannes Film Festival, receiving the Short Film Palme d’Or and the BAFTA Award for Best Short Film nomination. It has a number of scenes where the families meet in a overgrown railway yard which is home to a number of derelict items of rolling stock. This used the yard of MC Metals Processing, Springburn.

With the Glasgow tower blocks forming a backdrop, James Ramsay gives Lynne Ramsay Jr a piggyback through the largely derelict yard of MC Metals
To the right of this shot is a bogie bolster wagon stacked with old bogies and a burnt out Mark 2 coach. The British Rail scrap recycling facility closed soon after filming and the land has now been redeveloped.
This shot shows some fire damaged parcels vans on the siding behind the bolster wagon
This some what out of sync view shows the above items of rolling stock from further down the yard
