A newly-wed wife of a young doctor goes to live with him in an oppressive old house where various mysterious attempts are made on her life

This drama was based on the 1950 novel of the same name by Dorothy Eden. It features a good shot of Gomshall and Shere station on the North Downs line in Surrey, with a train arriving behind ex-SR U Class 2-6-0 No.31617. The station is still open, but is now just plain Gomshall.

Natasha Parry arrives at the local station as a train approaches
The train rolls in behind her in the capable hands of U Class 2-6-0 No.31617
The train has now come to a stand and doors begin to open
Melissa Stribling and Natasha Parry ‘having a goss’ by the station nameboard. It is so pleasing to see an actual station, in this case Gomshall and Shere, playing the part of itself and not given some other name just for the film. It helps with identification too!!
