CRIME OVER LONDON

Having relocated to London, a gang of New York criminals plan the robbery of a department store

This crime movie was based on the novel House of a Thousand Windows by Louis de Wohl. The opening sequence sees the criminal gang disembarking from a Cunard Liner at Southampton. This is followed by a shot of Southern Railway coaching stock and an overhead shot of a train going away from the camera, in between which is a good low-level shot of ‘King Arthur’ Class N15 4-6-0 No.786 Sir Lionel pulling away from Southampton Central. The opening establishing shot of London is of course that of the Houses of Parliament and several trams can be seen crossing Westminster Bridge.

‘King Arthur’ Class No.786 Sir Lionel pulls away from Southampton Central, but not on a boat train for Waterloo.
A train passes beneath the camera, but other than the fact that the locomotive is a tank engine nothing more can be ascertained
Sadly, this shot of Westminster Bridge is quite dark, yet at least four trams can still be made out
