BEFORE I WAKE

GB
1954
1hr 16mins
Dir: Albert Rogell
Starring: Jean Kent and Maxwell Reed

A stepmother attempts to murder her adopted daughter in order to get her inheritance

The opening scene of this really taught B-movie thriller was filmed on Taplow station, and a GWR train can be seen departing in the background. The film was adapted from the 1953 Hal Debrett novel of the same name.

In this arrival scene at Taplow, Mona Freeman is met by the station master (Phillip Ray) as her train departs in the background.
And as they make their way off of the platform the train has moved off into the distance.
The station at Taplow has appeared in many films but on this occasion it plays the part of the fictional ‘Dawmouth’.
