BAKTERION

A scientist is accidentally mutated into a blood-thirsty monster by the pathogens upon which he was experimenting

This Italian-Spanish collaboration is a horrifically bad film, which during the period of very bad and very cheap horror movies is no mean feat! Despite some scenes filmed in Spain, the majority of shooting took place in London and the surrounding suburbs bordering Kent. There are a couple of brief, and apparently meaningless scenes filmed at Swanley station, with one featuring a run through at speed of a 6-car EMU formation made up of three 2-car HAPs. The film was released officially as Bakterion, but was known largely by its English language title of Panic (director Tonino Ricci is credited in the English language versions as Anthony Richmond). It was also released in Australia as Zombi 4: Bakterion, in Germany as Nightmare Killing, and as Monster of Blood in the US, where it did not receive its television premiere until 1984.

The entire film is a poor quality production, hence the poor nature of this image showing a train of 2 HAP EMUs speeding through platform 2 of Swanley station. Highlighting the awful nature of the film, the train passes unforgivingly to the sound of a steam train (?!)
Having passed out of sight we get a slightly better view of the station. This is looking west towards St. Mary Cray.
Later on as night falls, we get a further glimpse of Swanley station. This is looking east towards the junction with the Chatham and Maidstone lines.
