A look at four seasons in the lives of a happily married couple and their relationships with their family and friends

Another Year, another brilliant Mike Leigh drama. This film features a couple of scenes filmed close to Battersea Power Station with Class 465 ‘Networker’ EMUs passing on the viaducts behind, and a scene with Peter Wight onboard a Southeastern Class 377 ‘Electrostar’ EMU. There is also a very good passing shot of an East Midlands Trains 7-car Class 222 ‘Meridian’ DEMU on the southern end of Midland Main Line, though it is dubbed to the sound of an HST! Finally, there are a couple of shots of the frontage to King’s Cross station.

This fine study of a Class 465 ‘Networker’ shows Battersea Power Station just in shot to the left. The EMU is dropping down from Linford Street Junction to Battersea Pier Junction on the Up Chatham Main. The two tracks at a lower level to the right run to Stewart’s Lane Depot.
As Jim Broadbent arrives for work another Class 465 starts to cross Grosvenor Bridge on the final approach to London Victoria.
Peter White onboard a Class 377 ‘Electrostar’.
Another fine study of modern traction appears in the form of this East Midlands Trains Class 222 ‘Meridian’ racing past the camera at line speed. The train was unfortunately dubbed to the sound of an HST, in which case one may well have just filmed an HST!!
The familiar sight of London King’s Cross forms the backdrop to a couple of scenes.
