A YANK AT OXFORD

GB
1938
1hr 42mins
Dir: Jack Conway
Starring: Robert Taylor and Maureen O’Sullivan

A cocky American athlete receives a scholarship to attend Oxford University

This enjoyable sporting drama features one pleasing shot of a GWR express running alongside a river. The journey that follows is a lengthy one using a set, and the back-projection does well not to repeat. The view through the window eventually features an arrival into an unknown station with more GWR coaching stock, wagons and vans, complimented by a very large running in board.

This is the lovely view of a GWR express running alongside a river. I would have it a guess that this is the Berks & Hants line, with the Kennet & Avon Canal in the foreground.

And here is the station running in board. Three lines of text, at least, tells us that it is a junction station of some sort.
