A group of radicalised young British Muslim men aspire to be suicide bombers
Heard of the phrase laugh in the face of adversity? Well, this satirical black comedy about a group of homegrown terriorist jihadis does just that. The film is a jihad satire that will not be to everyone’s liking, but it is a smart movie that is very real in the aspects it portrays. The film was largely shot in Sheffield and we are treated to a couple of brief glimpses of Sheffield Supertrams running along Park Grange Road in the Arbourthorne district of the city. There are also a couple of brief shots of Riz Ahmed onboard a tram, plus a shot of him walking along the footbridge of Meadowhall Interchange station. Finally, the climax of the film is centered around the London marathon and there is an aerial view of the entrance to Bermondsey Underground station.
