ONE BRIEF SUMMER

GB
1970
1hr 26mins
Dir: John Mackenzie
Starring: Clifford Evans and Jennifer Hilary

A wealthy financier falls for a young girl his daughter’s age

This truly terrible drama is based on the play Valkyrie’s Armor by Harry Tierney. It features a lingering shot of Felicity Gibson sat inside the compartment of a Mk.1 coach followed by a brief shot of maroon-liveried Mk.1 stock departing from Chippenham station in Wiltshire. This is believed to be a section of footage taken by ITC of a Class 42 ‘Warship’ diesel-hydraulic-hauled express departing the station, the full take of which appears in Video 125’s Diesels & Electrics on 35mm DVD and similar shots also in The Vulture (1967) (qv).
