Given the incentive of political asylum, a defector is sent on an espioange mission behind the Iron Curtain
This incredibly dull neo-noir spy thriller is based on the eponymous John le Carré novel of 1965. It has a sequence early on whereby the authorities are looking at photographs taken in ‘Kalkstadt railway yard’ showing what is believed to be the outline of a Soviet missile. In reality, the railway yard is somewhere in Britain as a Class 37 diesel is visible.
