Having failed to join the Royal Air Force, a hopeful airmen joins the Air Sea Rescue launches instead
This war film was developed from a short story by Richard Hope Hillary, an RAF pilot killed in action in January 1943. For Those in Peril was one of the few British productions that appeared in 1944–1945, and its semi-documentary style suited its role as a propaganda film. Much action took place in the docks at Newhaven, where some of the sidings on the quayside are visible. Although little of note features in these scenes, there is one excellent sequence filmed at Newhaven Town station that includes a very good shot of Southern Railway 2 NOL EMU No.1833 arriving on a Headcode 1 service, Lewes-Seaford.
