GB 2008 2hrs 06mins Dirs: Paul Vernon and Clive Bowden Starring: Simon Berry and Robin Nettleton
Two men discover a time slip on the Isle of Wight, and revisit it in an attempt to change the past
This independent sci-fi production is set in and around Hampshire and the Isle of Wight. It features some excellent, and so far wholly unique footage of the vintage Class 483 Island Line trains, formed of former 1938 London Underground stock. The stations at Brading and Ryde Esplanade feature, and there is also a shot of the depot at Ryde St. John’s. On the mainland, there is a scene shot at Portsmouth Harbour station without any trains present, and some scenes filmed at Emsworth station with Southern Class 377 ‘Electrostars’ coming and going, including No.377425. Oddly, the film is listed as being 126 minutes long, yet the video version of the film is only 81 minutes in length. The film was ‘Dedicated to the 1980s and everyone who was part of it’. So that’s me then!
A London Transport red Class 483 runs towards the camera in this shot taken from the Marshcombe Shute road bridge south of Brading. The year is 2008, and the trains had another twelve years left to run. They just made it into 2021, and by the time that the final two units were withdrawn on 3rd January that year they were an incredible 83 years old!
Jo Cox sitting inside the vintage and somewhat battered interior of a Class 483. The paint on the window to the right of her head is not graffiti, it is part of the Dinosaur pictogram livery worn by most of the class at the time.

A view of Class 483 EMUs outside the depot at Ryde St. John’s Road. Examples of both LT red and Dinosaur liveries can be seen.
A Southern Class 377 ‘Electrostar’ EMU heads away from Emsworth station, the last station in Hampshire when heading along the coastal route to Brighton

Another Class 377 puls out of Emsworth and is neatly framed between the canopy supports
The unassuming entrance to Ryde Esplanade station for trains to Ryde Pier Head (for ferry), Brading, Sandown & Shanklin. No mention of Lake then!!
This really interesting view shows a Dinosaur liveried Class 483 standing in Brading station. Dusk is in its final stages, and it will soon be the end of another day.
