A sophisticated London fashion columnist takes a job with a small town publisher and ‘moral crusader’
ThisĀ appalling sex comedy took just eight days to shoot, and was produced under the ‘Eady Levy’. Of featurette length, director Pete Walker was obliged to shoot additional sleaze footage for the US release as Hot Girls for Men Only which brought the running time to just over an hour and introduced a gangster subplot to the film that makes it slightly more bearable. The Hot Girls for Men Only version was also shown in UK membership only sex cinemas, and the additional footage released by Walker himself on the 8mm market as two short films: The Round-Up and Planned Seduction. Although invariably referred to as For Men Only, the film was initially released in the UK under the alternative working title of I Like Birds. It has a scene filmed at a Southern Region railway station with Derek Aylward alighting from a train of 4 SUB EMU stock before then being seen outside the front of a diiferent station entirely. Although it is not yet known which station was used in the arrival scene, the exterior shots used East Grinstead.
