Having joined an Am-Dram society, a man finds success and sexual attraction in equal measure

This comedy drama was adapted from the Alan Ayckbourn play of the same title and features shots of Scarborough station, both at the beginning and the end. A Class 150/2 ‘Sprinter’ DMU is seen in the opening sequence passing through the countryside en-route to the resort, and Jeremy Irons is then seen onboard an HST. However, the usual continuity errors persist and he arrives in Scarborough on a Class 142 ‘Pacer’ DMU! As he alights from this train, another Class 150/2 is reflected in its windows, and there is a further Sprinter in the background of another scene.
