Spoof comedy featuring hero Bullshot Crummond, a parody on Bulldog Drummond

This all-action comedy is ridiculously funny and it has some comedy scenes shot on the Bluebell Railway. The main sequence utilises a train hauled by SR ‘Schools’ V Class 4-4-0 No.928 Stowe and this includes some decent stunt work with Diz White clinging to the outside of the train, and an arrival into Horsted Keynes station. Interestingly the film accurately portrays this part of Sussex, so the train arrives into Horsted Canes, as it is pronounced! The final scenes towards the end were filmed at the bridge over Keysford Lane and feature ex-SECR C Class 0-6-0 No.592 on a train.

The railway sequence begins with this over-the-camera shot of C Class 0-6-0 No.592, more of which we see later
‘Schools’ Class No.928 Stowe throws exhaust lazily over its tender as it passes through the West Sussex countryside
No.928 Stowe passes the camera
Diz White clinging precariously to the side of the train
Stowe brings its train into the platform as the porter calls ‘Horsted Canes’
Diz White arrives into the platform clinging for dear life to the outside of the open door
Only to be told it is ‘an offence to open the door at a station before the train has come to a complete stand’!! Notice the Horsted Keynes signboard.
SECR C Class 0-6-0 No.592 approaches the camera in this scene towards the end of the film
We are treated to this excellent rear three-quarters view of the loco as its progress is followed
Diz White and Alan Shearman have caught their parachute on a signal arm. The signal is a prop but the bridge is very much real. This is Keysford Lane, to the south of Horsted Keynes.
No.592 approaches the stricken pair who drop down to the road below when the signal arm lowers
The pair land in a waiting car that is speeding out of shot as the loco passes over the bridge
