WANTED FOR MURDER - British Railway Movie Database

WANTED FOR MURDER

GB
1946
1hr 35mins
Dir: Lawrence Huntington
Starring: Eric Portman and Dulcie Gray

The son of a Victorian hangman is driven insane by thoughts of his father’s profession

This generally convincing crime film has an opening scene shot on the London Underground with a train of 1923 Standard stock in the platform of a deep level tube station. The entrance to Hampstead in the film is a studio set and as we see passengers travelling on escalators the station remains unidentified as Hampstead only has lifts. There is also a shot of Eric Portman crossing the road on the Victoria Embankment and an F1-type tram passes on a Route 31 trip bound for Battersea.

Added for the sake of completeness, this is the entrance to Hampstead Underground station, and it is so clearly a studio set
Passengers travel down an escalator with yet more uplighters. This is not Hampstead as that only has lifts.
At platform level a train of 1923 Standard stock calls to pick up passengers
Eric Portman attempts to cross the Victoria Embankment. Note the F1-type tram working a service on Route 31.
