A journalist goes on holiday to Ireland where he encounters a fortune-teller

This comedy fantasy was based on a radio play To Tell You the Truth by Robert Barr and includes one stock shot of a Southern Region express hauled by unrebuilt Bulleid ‘West Country’ Class 4-6-2 No.34025 Whimple, passing through Berrylands on the LSWR main line. This shot reappeared in The Hand (1960).

Two trains pass on a dreary day at Berrylands, that approaching is hauled by ‘West Country’ light pacific No.34025 Whimple working a down express.
The camera pans around as the train passes revealing the distinctive signal at the end of platform 2. Thanks to reelstreets for the screen captures. Similar shots to these, only at night appear, in the film Rough Shoot (qv) which was released the same year. This bares the possibility that they were originally shot at the same time, for the films were released barely a month apart.
